Your honor, I'd like to present exhibit A: A 1 gallon an of Benjamin Moore paint.
Sherwin Williams - 3 & 11/16 quarts... Huh? So, it Isn't a 'gallon' of paint?
Sherwin Williams - 1 & 27/32 pints... Weird how the pinted label there says "Quart"...
Sherwin Williams - 1 & 31/32 pints... before colorant is added... so is that it.. they can't find any 2 & 1/32nd size cans to put 2.0 pints of paint in with 1/32 left over for the color?
Sherwin Williams - 3 & 27/32 quarts...
No.. Wait... stop the presses.. Home Depot Behr brand is putting 1.0 quarts in the jar.. what if I want color?
Sherwin Williams - 3 & 29/32 quarts...
Ah Ha!! Caught ya.. Benjamin is less also.. this time... 1 & 15/16 pints in this quart..
Dang.. Benjamin is less again too... 3 & 7/8 quarts in this *almost* gallon...
and.. the sherwin williams 5 gallon bucket holds..... (remember there is 2 inches of air gap at the top when you take the lid off.... Keep your drum roll going people....
4 & 59/64 gallons in the *5* gallon bucket of paint... It would break their bank to put in 5 gallons of paint in the 5 gallon bucket. So, once I noticed... I couldn't stop looking. More often than not, the paint can does not contain what is discussed in the store. I challenge anyone to walk in to the store and ask "what sizes of paint can I buy?"... If any one of you hears... Well, we have the 3 & 27/32nd size of the white, and the 1 & 29/32 pint size... lunch is on me... if they talk in quarts or gallons.. feel free to tell them you ain't here for ice cream, you're looking for paint.
